I have been working on a few campaigns.

Been working on setting up a few niche sites and self hosted blogs, so I haven't posted much here lately.
With Christmas shopping and the launch of so many different marketing products, I barely have time to check my email.

Anyway. I setup a new software and ebook library site that has been a little different process than what I am use to. Been pulling my hair out trying to finish before the shopping season is over. I still need to work on navigation and internal linking, but it is 90% done.

Question About Ethics

I hear some folks say the ends justify the means.

I don't believe that to be true. Ethics should be the #1 concern of any business. If the business cannot make money without being unethical then the owners should close the business and start fresh. I know of a case right now where a producer of food and drug ingredients has been part of such unethical behavior. At least I consider it to be unethical.

Decide for yourself!

Lets say that it is a pork related product. Now I am not Jewish and do not know a lot about their religious beliefs, But I do know that most Jewish people do not eat pork.

Now if a company that produces a product that is derived from pork pays a Rabbi several thousand dollars to come in and bless the product does that make it Kosher.

Like I said before I am not Jewish but I do have my religion, and I think that any person or company that would fool me into doing something against my religion should be sued, the perpetrators of what I consider a crime should go to jail and never be allowed to be in the position to do it again.

I thought that was the purpose of having the kosher label on products. Isn't there a truth in advertising policy that covers this.

I would name the company and parties involved, but legal concerns prevent me from doing so right now. As soon as I work through the legalities I will make sure to let it be known.

This post is a little off topic of making money online, but I thought it needed to be brought to light. I will keep you posted.

Are You Prepared For Self Employment?

There must be many people around you who speak about self employment in glowing terms. No wonder you might be looking at jumping into the self employment bus too. But it might be too soon for you. Pause and think. Are you ready for self employment yet?

A difficult question to answer, right? But wait, here are some of the things that can help you to assess whether you are prepared or not.

1. How informed are you about the business you are planning to enter?

If you are going to employ yourself, one of the biggest drawbacks you would face will be that there will be no one to guide you in there. That is the reason why you yourself should be informed as much as possible. The barest knowledge you would require is to see how the production of your business goes, how strong the market is, what kind of strategies are adopted for selling, what the prices of the products are, and how many skilled and unskilled services will be needed for accomplishing the task. Now, you have to make sure you know the answers of at least these many things, and if you don't it is better that you work for someone else for a little more time till you get the information.

2. Are there resources at your disposal?

You just cannot enter into a self employment business if you do not have the resources to begin. You will probably need a workspace, a computer, some stationery, some kinds of specialized equipment, packaging materials, and there are so many other things that are specific to the business you are planning to enter. You have to make certain you have access to these things before you take the big step of quitting your day job and entering into a self employment venture.

3. What are the financial aspects of your self employment opportunity?

Money will always be a prime concern, and you have to make sure you have the right kind of money before you begin. Make a calculation about the kind of money you will want. For self employment, at a minimum, you will need to have rolling money for at least the first three months, and some money kept aside for contingencies. Many financial institutions give money for self employment ventures. If you do not have your money, you should be at least equipped with the knowledge of where and how to get it.

4. How much of the work will you do, and how much will you delegate to others?

Even if it is a self employment thing, you must know that you will not be able to do everything yourself. There might be some specific points of the affair that you will have to give to someone else. Make a rethink on how many people you will be able to afford for your business, and how you will get these people.

These are the basic things on which you must be prepared when you are planning to be self employed. If you do not have all these things ready at your disposal, you are taking a very big risk quitting your safe job and starting your own business.

Running a business from home can be easy but it isn't for everyone. It can provide greater flexibility than an office based business. running your company in the same place you live can impact your family life and lead to feelings of isolation.

If you are considering starting a home-based business would be wise to take time to consider several important factors that will decide if the project is suitable for them.

Hobby into Career

Entrepreneurs trying to turn their hobby into a career are good way to start a work at home business. These include arts and crafts products such as woodworking and plant nursery, childcare, teaching and tutoring,  dog walking and language translation. It is service businesses that work the best to run from home because these businesses do not have customers on the doorstep. Important Questions To Answer

Starting a home business without first thinking whether it is for you could lead to disaster. There are questions you need to ask to make sure that you will not start a business you will hate later.

1: Will I have the support of my wife and children if any?

Support from family members is important as you may need to allocate some personal space for your work area.  These areas should be reserved for your work materials and not be part of the living space.

2:  Am I good at setting goals and meeting them?

There are a million distractions when you work form home.  To successfully run a business from home, you need to know if you good at setting priorities and if you are able to get yourself away from what is exciting to what is important?

3: Will I have the discipline to work hard every day without a boss always looking to see that that work is done?

Procrastination is the #1 killer of productivity.  When you are running a business from home, be careful not to fall into this rut.

4: How much time will this startup business take?

Time to work on your own business can often be more than the 9 to 5 job you are used too.

It may be sometime before your newly started business actually shows a profit. Make sure you have the start up capital to keep you in business.

New Blog Post - Too many emails

I am sure if you have ever looked into working online for yourself you have filled in an "opt in form" at least once.

They all say that your privacy is secure and that they hate span as much as you do. They say they will not sfare your info with any third party, but then you get emails from people you never heard of before. You get the same great "free offer" sales pitch that you got from the last guy. Just fill in the form with your name and email to get instant access to this "never seen before system" that makes more money in 5 minutes than is printed in the US Mint all year!

I am tired of the lies!
If it were possible, don't you think they would keep it to themselves? But they promise you instant access to their "Latest Break Through Formula" or the "Little Known Glitch In Google" that you can exploit to make thousands of dollars a day. You fill out the form to get more info, but what you get is another sales pitch of one or more of their "revolutionary new products."

If you try to close the page you almost always get a popup offering more free info. This is often where you get shared. This new free offer will have an opt in form also, but it may be from another person altogether. When you fill out this form you have joined another mailing list and the process repeats.

The honest marketers may from time to time send out an email for a third party, but not give them your info. This is another way to get put on another mailing list. I try to stay away from these tactics because I will unsubscribe from any list that I even think is doing this. Give people what they ask for or what you promised and they will stay on your list longer.
